Meet Christian!

Guitar / Ukulele / Voice / Piano / Drums

Hello! My name is Christian, and I am originally from Missouri but love being in Texas now! Music has always been at the core of what I loved most growing up. I was raised in the church surrounded by musicians, and my mom was on the worship team. I played guitar, piano, drums, and sang whenever I could.

My first introduction to playing music came when my mother began teaching me piano at the age of 9. From there, I was so eager to keep learning music that I started trying to teach myself other instruments, too. Some of the other excellent musicians around saw my enthusiasm and began teaching me guitar and drums. I fell in love with playing guitar as soon as I started learning it! It finally gave me an outlet to play the music I was hearing in my head. I started to take it more seriously as I entered high school and eventually began playing acoustic and electric guitar for various church worship bands in my hometown.

I carry my bachelor’s degree in music from Nelson University, where I played and traveled with the Nelson worship team, learning and growing so much more instrumentally. At Nelson, I not only took more formal lessons in guitar, piano, and drums but also thrived in my studies of vocal performance and collegiate level music theory. My passions and goals for the future are to use my musical giftings in the context of worship ministry and missions, as well as to pass on all of the knowledge I have gained to students who are eager to learn and who love music like I do. I taught music lessons to many students in the youth groups that I was apart of over the years and now thoroughly enjoy teaching here at En Route Academy!

I plan to continue developing as a worship leader and a music teacher, hoping to pass on a passion for the finer details of music and the joy of playing an instrument and singing!
