About Musikgarten
Did you know that everyone is born with an aptitude for music?
It’s true! However if we don’t start nurturing that skill when children are very young, they can lose that aptitude since it is not being developed. Musikgarten offers adults the opportunity to play with their little ones in a musical setting, experiencing music and movement activities designed to delight the child and awaken their curiosity about music. By singing, dancing, bouncing, and rocking, the child's music aptitude is being carefully nurtured, laying the foundation for beat awareness, vocal production, and aural discrimination. Musikgarten is a world-renowned curriculum that opens the door to music for young ones and prepares them to be able to use music to express themselves later in life—a real gift! While any caregiver is welcome (mom, dad, grandparent, nanny, etc.), we do recommend that the same caregiver come to class as often as possible to better learn the curriculum along with the child and to be able to bond with the child through participating in the class activities and songs together each week (no prior musical experience needed!).
Toddler Class
Ages 18 months - 3.5 years old
Join your toddler in singing, chanting, moving, dancing, listening, and playing simple instruments, while developing a special bond with your child. Through activities that bridge the natural connection between music and movement, your child’s musical aptitude and listening abilities will be further developed. This class also focuses on fine and gross motor skills, neurological growth, and social and behavioral skills through techniques influenced by several great childhood development thinkers, such as Montessori.
Preschool Class
Ages 3.5 - 5 years old
Celebrate your child’s love of nature and growing independence through musical activities focused on the seasons. Classes are designed to build attention, imagination, and self-expression and include singing, chanting, moving, listening, musical games, exploring musical instruments, creative movement, playing pretend, and storytelling. Age-appropriate techniques prepare preschoolers in advance for social interactions, creativity, and taking music lessons when they are older if they would like to, all while discovering the joys of nature and our earth’s seasons.
